Account Executive

General Communications is searching for an Account Executive/Outside Sales Representative to join our team. The successful candidate is future focused but also has a history of proven performance and sales growth that will bring increased growth to our market presence. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to generate new leads. They also need to be enthusiastic, results-driven and enjoy working in a fast-paced setting.

VoIP Telecom/Network/Data Technical Support Engineer

The successful candidate will become a member of a highly motivated Telecom/IT team that supports our obligations and responsibilities to our customers. We are seeking an individual that is an effective communicator (both verbal and written English language) and who has a the skills necessary to analyze and problem-solve network issues related to implementation and service issues at a high level. He or she must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize customer demands as well as maintain a professional attitude in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, performing day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision but working effectively with immediate and cross-functional team members. To be a contributor to our company, the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong desire to independently learn new emerging technologies and become an expert in the technologies that are relevant to the services that we provide to our customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Engineering & technical support required for the implementation of network/telecom/data hardware & software sold to our customers
  • Installation, programming, service of switches, routers and servers
  • Troubleshooting (research & resolution) of software and integration issues with technologies such as CRMs, MS Exchange, Mobile phone Apps.
  • Assist other team members
  • Work both on-site at customer locations or remotely from the company’s help desk
  • Report to and work with managers, office managers, supervisors & C-level executives
  • Communicate effectively between technical support and business leaders
  • Control technical projects from start to finish or assume project responsibilities as re-assigned.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Microsoft server and desktop OS installations(Linux experience a plus)
  • Experience with maintaining Microsoft Active Directory environment in small to mid-size organizations.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization of server OS and thin client.
    (Extensive VMware and Citrix knowledge a definite plus!)
  • Working knowledge of electronic mail protocols(SMTP, POP, IMAP) and email client/server integrations.
  • Competent with computer hardware repair and configurations
  • Strong knowledge of IP routing for layer 2 and layer 3 switching, LAN/WAN configurations including VPN and VLAN implementations
  • Knowledge of router/firewall configurations for small to mid-size organizations (Advanced Cisco and Sonic Wall experience a definite plus!)
  • Knowledge of network analysis and troubleshooting tools such as packet capture software and LAN/WAN discovery and assessment software
  • Candidate must own a good working vehicle for travel to customer locations as needed
  • Solid documentation skills and ability to create documents using Visio and MS Office
  • After hours and weekend schedules may be required
  • Strong desire to learn new technologies to become a team expert
  • Fluent in English Language; Competent in English speaking, reading & writing.
  • Control technical projects from start to finish
  • Certifications: Certifications are a plus
  • Travel: Local travel in MA, So NH, RI area may be required. Fuel and all expenses will be reimbursed. Health, Dental, 401K and other benefits included.

Outside Sales Representative/”Hunter”

Seeking a Sales Representative to join our team. The successful candidate is future focused but also has a history of proven performance and sales growth that will bring increased growth to our market presence. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to generate new leads. They also need to be enthusiastic, results-driven and enjoy working in a fast-paced setting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Generating new business-utilizing cold calls and data base cultivation
  • Developing and implementing effective sales plan
  • Preparing proposals, estimates of materials/labor, and completing timeline
  • Relationship Management

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Three plus years experience in outside or inside sales and knowledge of the telecom industry (VOIP, LAN/WAN, PBX) is a plus
  • Self Motivated, results-driven and highly professional
  • Heavy sales/lead generation knowledge/skills
  • Independent professional with excellent work ethic
